Lake Metroparks will be hosting “Best of the Bluffs: Migration Rest Stop” from 1 to 4 p.m. June 4 at Lake Erie Bluffs, 3301 Lane Road in Perry Township.

The event highlights the wide variety of migrating birds who are resting up at the shoreline in preparation for the long flight over Lake Erie.

“The shore of Lake Erie provides a tremendous place to recharge and relax whether you’re heading south for winter or north for summer,” Lake Metroparks Interpretive Naturalist Nick Gaye explained in a news release. “We invite participants to explore what makes Lake Erie Bluffs such a great rest stop for migrating birds and insects.”

Activities will include hands-on activities, information stations and self-guided hikes around the park and along the Lake Erie shoreline. Local conservation partners will offer interactive exhibits that focus on the importance of Lake Erie Bluffs to bird migration.

This program for all ages is free but registration is requested. Visit goto.lakemetroparks.com/best-of-bluffs for more information and to register.
